MVPT can conduct on-site ergonomic consults. We are available to provide an ergonomic evaluation and education to allow you to work comfortably and efficiently at your workplace.
Our highly trained and experienced staff are committed to your health. We offer one on one treatment and customize each visit to each patient. Once you are evaluated with a physical therapist, you will stay with that therapist for the rest of your care; you will never be seen by a physical therapy assistant. That is what sets us apart from other physical therapy clinics.
MVPT treats a very diverse group, from the young to the geriatric population. We will work with you to return to activities that you enjoy. We will evaluate and treat to get you back to what you want to do. We provide individualized treatment for each patient - no two patients are the same. Even though you may have the same diagnosis as someone else, your body may react differently. By carefully assessing your condition and understanding your needs, our therapists will create an effective course of therapy that is as individual as you are.
“Steve Sarro is very gifted. I had chronic neck pain and was referred to him in 2013. This was the third PT I had seen for this problem. After PT sessions with Steve, my neck pain has never bothered me again. In 2015 I tore my meniscus and could barely walk. Working with Steve again got me walking with almost no pain.”
At Mount Vernon Physical Therapy, we believe in a "whole body" approach to physical therapy. You may be coming in with a diagnosis of an ankle sprain but we will evaluate not just the ankle but from the head to the toes. The most important part of the treatment is the education that you will receive from the MVPT therapists. Once you understand your problem, then you will be able to treat it correctly. You will know exactly why you are doing specific exercises with us. We will explain in detail what specific techniques we are performing on you so that you have more control of your treatment. We will work very closely with your physician and other health practitioners to ensure that you receive the specific treatment that you need to address all your health care needs.
We use a functional approach to get you to return to your goals. This means we will be utilizing exercises that will be very specific to the activity that you want to do. We will evaluate you not just on the initial visit but each subsequent visit as well. That way we know how you are progressing and if we need to change the approach that we are using with you. We will assess muscles, joints, ligaments, tendons, the nervous system, flexibility, balance and agility.
“I have been a patient of several care providers at MVPT, including Deb, Lee, and Steve. They have treated me for a variety of conditions including an acute knee injury, herniated discs in my neck, and chronic spinal scoliosis flare-ups. This group of experienced providers uses conservative care with an individualized approach to patients.
I feel that I have the benefit of being educated about my condition while I am treated, so I can implement methods to better care for myself. I am also able to leave with confidence that my care is provided with a personal touch.
The clinicians are obviously passionate about what they do. I highly recommend these physical therapists to anyone needing phyicaly therapy care. The providers are kind, caring, and encouraging with their approach, with the goal of improving the quality of their patients’ lives.”
